The Office of Equality and Diversity is the central institution of the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) for matters concerning equal opportunities. FAU promotes equal opportunities through gender mainstreaming, diversity management, and strategies to ensure compatibility between studying, working and having a family and these areas are assigned to the Office of Equality and Diversity. The Office also supports the FAU’s women’s representatives in fulfilling their tasks.
The Institute for Learning Innovation (ILI) is the centre for e-learning at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and a research institute that is part of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology. At ILI an interdisciplinary team of around 30 researchers in the field of the humanities and engineering, research and develop digital, media-supported learning methods for people of all age groups, from school children to senior citizens. Together with a large network of European and national partners, ILI implements relevant projects and offers services, consulting and knowledge transfer.
The Language Centre is responsible for language instruction and is a central institution at FAU. It offers language instruction in degree programmes in philological subjects as well as courses that have their own examination regulations and certificates (UNIcert© I-IV) for students from all faculties taking a language course alongside their main degree programme or integrated into their degree programme as key qualifications. The Language Centre provides a wide range of practice-based courses, which are increasingly supported with e-learning media.
The Center for Applied Philosophy of Science and Key Qualifications conducts interdisciplinary research in cooperation with all five faculties in the field of applied philosophy of science and is a central institution at FAU. Our Center also coordinates the Key Qualifications Programme and the Orientation Programme (GOS) as well as delivering a broad portfolio of training courses and advisory services in both areas. The Intercultural Skills certificate and support for students with visual impairments offered by the Center also support diversity and inclusion.
