The Learning Lab is a sub-project of the project QuiS – Qualität in Studium und Lehre. QuiS was launched in 2012 as part of the Quality Pact for Teaching and aims to ease the transition to university, reduce the drop-out rate, improve the quality of teaching and increase student satisfaction.
The Learning Lab is one of the 15 sub-projects in the second funding phase (2017-2020) that aims to contribute to the achievement of these objectives. The Learning Lab is a meeting point for students, where they can find advice, interdisciplinary events on various subjects in their degree programmes, as well as exchange information and ideas. The Learning Lab is intended for all FAU students, and strives to offer a welcoming environment for newcomers and international students, in particular. At the Learning Lab students can access contacts for various resources, equipment and events, as well as expertise on academic writing, the use of digital media in learning and teaching and on diversity, equal opportunities and anti-discrimination at the University. The ethos of the Learning Lab is to establish an environment that encourages collaborative learning where students can learn together and from each other.
